Students, faculty, staff and community members can enjoy two fascinating Science Lecture Series presentations in April. Both presentations are FREE to attend.

The Perfect Finish
Tuesday, April 2, 2 p.m.
Room J-112

Varnishes have played a very important role in a painter’s world which have allowed famous paintings like the Mona Lisa to maintain its original appearance but with the unfortunate side effect of discoloration. Through time, these once luminous art pieces have fallen victims of photodegradation and have significantly lost the brightness they once held. Come hear our investigation into different chemical varnishes and how light sources affect their degradation.

Presenters are two Triton Students: Dominik Marek Radzik and Alondra Montenegro

Rhapsody in Green: History of the Cook County Forest Preserves
Thursday, April 25, 2 p.m.
Room J-112

In this presentation, historian Julia Bachrach will illuminate the inspiring story of the two visionaries, architect Dwight Heald Perkins and landscape architect Jens Jensen, who devised a plan to preserve this vast network of scenic lands for current and future generations.
